A Mystic Hike up to the Peak of the Pech de Bugarach

Very close to my holiday home, just a quick drive through the Gorges de Galamus away, the highest peak of the Corbières offers unforgettable hiking experiences even to those who have only little experience with hiking the mountain: the Pech (or Pic) de Bugarach. The most difficult ascent start at the D 45 from D45 von Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes to Bugarach, easier walks to the 1,230 m high peak start off the D14 linking Bugarach to the Gorges de Galamus. Printemps des Échoppes 2015

On Ascension Day 2015, Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet celebrated its 23rd festival Printemps des Échoppes. Even though the weather changed from sunny to windy and wet, everybody enjoyed the festivities, with the town’s 22 associations contributing to the day’s varied programme. For all interested in local culture and cuisine, the annual ´Printemps des Échoppes“ is a great way to discover the region, with local artisans and producers inviting to discover and taste their produce, and bands playing popular tunes. Our lovely rock garden

The previous owners of our home had a very elaborate watering system installed in their garden, and watering the plants was a daily passion. And chore. And when travelling, there were always doubts if the timer would work properly. But one day, I pulled out the watering system, and my neighbour curiously peeked over the fence when feeding his chicks. „What are you doing? It’s been so expensive!“. Well, may be.
